Betsy, and how she works.

Her English has a flat, dry edge that keeps a room from turning solemn, and the Czech she keeps mostly for the phone. Working beside a second therapist she takes one side and stays there: no swapping, no negotiating over a client's shoulder. Couples get the longer booking recommended to them. The first half hour can be spent doing very little at all, and she thinks that is rather the point of it. Three years of hotel rooms off the Damrak at twenty-three, and she has never once made a small one feel smaller.

She works outcall only — your hotel room, your serviced apartment, your own flat. Twenty to thirty minutes across the centre once the booking is settled, at any hour. Schiphol airport hotels are by arrangement.
